The Proposal

It was October 31, 2017, exactly two years since the day we met. I was living in Missoula and Lathan was finishing school in Salem, Oregon. He had gone on a hunting trip a few days before, and I had thought he was going back to school, when in fact he was on his way to propose to me. Lathan had talked with all of my family and roommates so everyone knew what was going on except for me. When I came home from work, I thought I was going out with my sister and best friend and began dressing up in 50 shades of grey. Moments later I hear the doorbell ring and I sprint down the stairs with one boot on wearing every color of grey and answer the door and see a cute little ghost at my door step. When I reached out to give the ghost candy, the ghost took off his costume and there was Lathan down on one knee. The ring was in the trick or treat bucket along with pictures of us. He pulled out the ring and ask me to marry him! Tears were flowing and of course I said YES! Following the proposal, my family and best friend all went to an amazing dinner to celebrate the exciting news.
