Sheila & Mac

The wedding of Sheila and Mac at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake on July 15, 2017, was so sweet and oh-so beautiful. Carrie Ann Photography captured the beautiful day. From vintage rentals to beautiful dresses and florals in a lovely charcoal and dusty pink color palette, we're in love with the romance and darling details.

Their Love Story

Sheila and I first met at one of the most special and influential places in our lives, Whitefish High School in Whitefish, MT. The year was 2010; I was a junior at the time, while she was new to the high school scene as a freshman. In the second semester of that year, we were in the same study hall and instantly took notice of each other. Later in the semester, I asked Sheila to go to prom with me … however, her parents said no. Rather than accepting this answer, Sheila kept pushing and finally her mom (Meg) agreed to meet me and would then decide. Meg thought that it would be funny to act like she was cleaning a gun when I first walked in the door (Sheila was horrified). I entered the house and she said "Oh don't mind me, I'm just cleaning my shotgun." I responded by letting her know that the gun was actually a rifle … not the best way to make a first impression, but nonetheless a memorable one. April 10th, 2010, was our first official date at prom. Prom that year was held at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake, which happens to be the same venue as our wedding!

A few short months into dating each other, Sheila found out that she was going to be moving to Arizona in August. When August came it was so hard to say goodbye, but we knew we would keep in touch. A couple days after she left, we couldn't go a minute without talking to each other, so we decided to try to keep up a long-distance relationship. We killed it! In the spring of the next year, her family moved back to Whitefish for good. At this point, we thought we were done with long distance, however, in August, I started college and left Whitefish to play football at Carroll College (Go Saints!). We continued to date long distance throughout my freshman and sophomore year, and in the fall of 2013 Sheila started her first year at Carroll. Throughout her freshman and sophomore years at Carroll, I came to the realization that someday I was going to ask her to marry me, she was my best friend and I was head over heels in love with her.

In the summer of 2016, after dating for six and half years, I finally got down on one knee and asked Sheila to be my wife. It was one of the most joyous moments of my life. I got to watch her walk down the aisle towards me where we said our vows to each other to spend the rest of our lives together side by side.
