Cover Contest: The Final Three
The results are in for the 2018 My Montana Wedding magazine cover contest! After an amazing 2,692 votes, the field narrowed from five outstanding shots to three unbelievable photographs from three different My Montana Wedding member photographers. To place your vote for the winner, you need to come to the My Montana Wedding Expo on January 13, 2018, in Kalispell, MT. Here are the three finalists:
Cover Option #1: Elisabeth & Jake – Photography by Kelly Kirksey Photography
Elisabeth and Jake are Montana sweethearts. From Elisabeth's stunning off-the-shoulders dress to Jake's antique truck, their Kalispell, MT, wedding was romantic, sweet and full of love from their closest family and friends.
About the Shot
Their wedding was on the hottest day of the summer. It was so hot! We could see a summer storm beginning to move in and there were some amazing clouds with it. We knew it wasn't going to last long with the sun beginning to set, so we quickly went out to the field by the reception site. Then the colors came out in the most perfect summer sunset. Montana loves to show off!
Cover Option #2: Kelsey & Logan – Photography by Jennifer Mooney Photography
High school sweethearts Kelsey and Logan dated for 10 years before their wedding day on July 15, 2017. Both from Wisconsin, they visited Montana many times together during their dating years, both to ski and to enjoy the summer, and Logan proposed at the summit of Whitefish Mountain! Saying their "I dos" at the top of Whitefish Mountain Resort was a dream come true for them.
About the Shot
The day after their wedding in Whitefish, we planned a photoshoot in Glacier National Park. On a perfect summer day, we hiked to the waterfall at this amazing spot at Two Medicine. It was one of those fantastic days in Glacier when every view is breathtaking. The amazing cascading bouquet by Mum's Flowers was the perfect accent to the natural colors and landscape.
Cover Option #3: Alexandra & Sean – Photography by Marianne Wiest Photography
Alexandra and Sean came all the way from New York to elope in Glacier National Park after seeing pictures online of a wedding in Glacier. The two make such an endearing couple: Alexandra was so sweet, and Sean was shy and quiet. They created a mini-wedding out of their elopement by adding a cake, glasses, ring box and table to the setting. These details made the intimate ceremony all their own. Alexandra's lace dress with a full tulle skirt was so amazing on her!
About the Shot
The photo was taken at Lake McDonald in August when the Sprague Creek Fire had just begun so it was smoky, but the smoke made for an epic sunset and warm (if smoky), dreamy light.
