Amy & Evan: A gorgeous urban wedding in Whitefish

Their Story

Evan and I met through mutual friends in college. We instantly had a connection and said our "I love yous" for the first time on Valentine's day. The day I knew he would be my husband was actually before we officially started dating. I went over to his sister's house for Thanksgiving – my family lives out of state so I was thrilled to be surrounded by a family for the holiday. When I spent Thanksgiving with Evans siblings, parents, cousins and family friends it felt at home and that I just belonged there. After dinner, his two cousins and older brother grabbed their guitars and started to sing. The song was "Rivers and Roads" by The Head and The Heart, and at that moment I remember thinking to myself, this is my family. Fast forward almost four years later and his two cousins sang that very song during our ceremony.

The night Evan proposed was a snowy night in December. Evan took me out to dinner at our favorite restaurant in Bozeman called the Fresco Café. I had a feeling he was going to propose at dinner but to my shock, Evan rushed through dinner and when I went to the bathroom he had boxed our food and paid the bill. Feeling a little disappointed our date night was so rushed I thought well it's not happening tonight. Then Evan and I walked to the top of the parking garage to put our food in our car before we went to Plonk to meet a friend for a birthday drink. It was on top of the roof where we parked, on a snowy night that he got down on one knee and proposed. As we walked down to Plonk I opened the door to all of our friends and family there waiting for us to celebrate the engagement. It was magical.

Our wedding was a wedding of 60 of our closest friends and family, not to mention 16 kids as well! We tried to make the night feel as authentic to Evan and me as possible. A small group of people, really good food and drinks, and of course a killer playlist. –Amy
