Joylanne + Patrick: An elegant Spring wedding at Izaak Walton Inn

Joylanne and Patricks's elegant Spring wedding was held at the iconic Izaak Walton Inn in Essex, Montana near Glacier National Park. We're in love with the bold, jewel tone color palette, which was inspired by the bride's green crystal necklace. The necklace was purchased by Joylanne's grandfather for her grandmother to wear on their wedding day in the 1960s. The Proposal

Patrick designed Jolyanne's engagement ring to look similar to her grandmother's wedding ring. He planned to have the ring ready for a trip to The Gorge, Washington, for the Dave Matthews Band concert on Labor Day weekend 2016. Unfortunately, the ring wasn't ready so they departed, ringless, and Jolyanne still unaware of the plan.

They got to The Gorge and Patrick's friend Matt was going to fly his work plane to The Gorge the next day, so Patrick asked Matt if he could bring a package with him, not giving him the details, if it was ready on time and Matt, without hesitation, said yes. Unfortunately, the package was not ready. So, Patrick spent the day making a twist tie ring for the evening concert. Jolyanne had noticed he was being a little weird all day but thought maybe it was work stress from an email he had gotten.

He waited for the perfect song "Say Goodbye" by Dave Matthews band. Patrick asked Jolyanne if she was happy and Jolyanne answered "How can I not be! We are surrounded by amazing friends, and I have such an amazing partner." Patrick then said, "Ok, don't say no in front of all these people!" He got down on one knee on a steep hill and told Jolyanne how much he cares for her, what she means to him, and how great their adventures are. He said he wanted to spend the rest of his life knowing he has a partner to continue their adventure. Of course Jolyanne said "YES!" His friends had no idea that he was planning the engagement and were so excited to see it unfold in front of their eyes.
